All Phases Comparison The Municipal Transparency Portal program The Municipal Transparency Portal is a fully phased in program that improves local government reporting required under Rhode Island General Laws §45-12-22.2 and §44-35-10 and the subsequent utilization of collected data. This has been achieved through a collaborative effort between state agencies, pilot municipalities, and other interested stakeholders by analyzing what should be reported and in what detail, with efforts taken to ensure the process is as transparent and timely as possible while still delivering a consistent, accurate and comparable data product readily accessible for public use. State Agencies responsible for the construction and implementation of the Municipal Transparency Portal include the Division of Municipal Finance, the Office of the Auditor General, and the Department of Education. The phase I pilot cities, towns and school districts which were partners in this effort include Barrington, Bristol, Cranston, Glocester, Lincoln, Middletown, North Providence, Pawtucket, Providence, Smithfield, South Kingstown, West Warwick and the Bristol/Warren Regional School District. Additional supporting entities include the League of Cities and Towns. All visualizations presented on this website utilize "new" format reporting data from participating pilots. Definitions for descriptions presented in this visualization can be found in the Data Dictionary ^^The below visualizations allow the user to start at the highest level of detail and progress to the lowest level of detail. Additionally, as the user progresses to the lowest level of detail more sorting options (selection drop downs) are available. At the highest level and the lowest level of detail some sorting options have been pre-selected for the user, but can be changed by the user. As an example, Urban Core (Municipal) is a pre-selected for the user, but any combination of Classifications can be obtained by utilizing the Classification drop down list.^^ Revenue/Source Data Comparisons for all Municipalities and School Districts Expense/Uses Data Comparisons for all Municipalities and School Districts Fund Balance Data Comparisons for all Municipalities and School Districts Employee Count Data Comparisons for all Municipalities and School Districts Levy Data Comparisons for all Municipalities
